That M1 looks best in that burnt orange. I like it a lot.

Oh hey! We should have taken pictures together before you left!

The artist that was drawing the Cheetah said he wanted to draw the SL, so I'm going to find the time to go up there and let him. From what he was telling me, I absolutely need it to become a reality.

I didn't leave until 1, I just moved closer to the "main area" as the day went on. I'll post tonight or tomorrow. I'm running on about 5 hours of sleep right now, so I don't know how late I'll be up tonight, I don't get home until a little before 11.

I'd do horrible, horrible things for that RUF.

Wow, that SL was yours? That is what dreams are made of. I saw your post that you were going, but I thought you said SL600 which made me think 90s. I would have loved to talk to you about it.

I was the one horribly underdressed in jeans and a Land Rover t-shirt. It seems we took oppo (haha) paths as I started in the parking lots and wound my way in. I am trying to go again next time and in that case we should definitely meet up.

Oh yes it does, and 340hp, plus the fact that it only comes in a manual, tells me BMW still has what little magic they have left.

I grew up with this in Gran Turismo so you and me both.

Well, yeah, I said SL600, and I would hope it made you think 90's, it's a 1997. I was in jeans and a t-shirt, trust me, there's no under-dressed there. I try to dress nicer when I take the SL, but I just barely rolled out of bed in time to make it to New Canaan "on time." I was still about 45 minutes later than I wanted to arrive (90+ minute drive for me).

I was all over the show, I walked around most lots, but got caught up talking to a lot of people that I recognize, and new people I met. I didn't take all that many photos comparatively, but I'm working on my submissions for Weekend Wallpaper, my instagram, and flickr.

That Lancia Stratos is the one from the Petrolicious video, and he was at my local C&C yesterday morning. Funny guy, if you're up on your british humor, otherwise some of his jokes will go right over your head. There was also a bright little alfa romeo parked not very far from him, that was also at my local C&C, they go to many of the events.

I only saw one other R129, an SL500, looked like a 95 or 96 model, but they're totally different. I spent a large portion of my day explaining what the car was, and re-assuring people that yes, it is a real V12. There's two types of people in the world, those that know what the SL600 Sport is, and those that don't. The latter group of people far outnumbers the former.

Didn't they stop selling them here in the U.S. for some reason? And damn - just looked on the U.S. site - no 1 series of any sort for sale.

UGH I'm SO upset that I couldn't make it today :(

Also, your pictures are phenomenal. I may make a flickr account, just to follow you.

For a second I thought you were saying you had the 300, I was beginning to regret not hunting you down. For some reason I never saw your 600, I was looking forward to seeing it as I am a big fan of terribly over complicated V12s. It would have been worth it just to see the doors do the soft close thing.

Your morning sounds exactly like mine. I live about 90 minutes away, so I arrived at the coffee shop just to see a string of Miatas leaving and the parking lot completely vacant. Unfortunately this is my local C&C so it's down to 90 minute drives to get some good eye candy.

I was parked right in front of the radio station booth, there was a toyota land cruiser behind me, and for a while a stingray nose to nose with me. I dont see the SL in your pics on first glance, but Ill look again.

Thanks, so much. That really means a lot. I took one photography class and the rest was practice from Gran Turismo haha.

As for C&C there is another in November. At the beginning of the year I always try to go to the Greenwich Concours in the spring. Both are well worth it.

Ah! Didn't know they're doing one in November. Yeah, this was the first one at Waveny. Are they doing it there next month?

I was working in Greenwich during the last Concours. Didn't know what was going on and then tried to take the day off to go hah.
